December 2025
Dear Friends of Shepherd’s Crossing,
The recent passing of C. Clyde Jones, known to many as Mr. Manhattan, reminds us of the special joy he brought to those of us at Shepherd’s Crossing. He was a visionary, compassionate champion for those in financial need in the community and a cheerleader for those on the front lines of helping others. At Shepherd’s Crossing, he encouraged us to set goals and create actionable steps to maintain financial longevity and sustainability. With your help this holiday season we can continue helping local families with the organization he helped build.
Shepherd’s Crossing continues to serve as a champion for those in our community facing eviction, utility shutoffs or making the decision to forgo essential prescription medicines because of the cost. Often, we are the last resort for families needing aid. The holiday season brings a new level of stress to these families.
The amount of help we provide depends on our generous volunteers and donors like you. Our volunteers provide financial counseling and emotional support to clients in their darkest days. You can support Shepherd’s Crossing this holiday season with a gift to help others. We have already helped more than 1,400 households so far this year, representing more than 3,500 individuals.
Please consider donating online or by mail. Feel free to see us in action on a day we are open. Shepherd’s Crossing will use your donation effectively to make Manhattan a community where all members are valued and cared for!
Sincerely,
Beth Klug, Executive Director
Ann Knackendoffel, Board President
