The Beginning
Shepherd’s Crossing began with a simple but powerful realization: more and more people in Manhattan and Riley County were turning to local churches for financial support. In response, Dr. Jim Reed, of FUMC brought together a diverse group of pastors who shared a vision—to create a single, unified location dedicated to serving those in need. That vision came to life in 2001, when Shepherd’s Crossing opened its doors to the community. Thank you for 25 years of support!
Today, support comes from churches, civic organizations, businesses, grants, and individuals, all united by a common goal: to provide meaningful assistance to our neighbors. Guided by grace and compassion, we offer financial help and budget counseling. We are a financial ministry rooted in dignity, respect, and practical support.
